[Travel] My favorite places in New York City

A few years ago, I went up to New York for a k-pop concert. While there, I got to see a group I really love, but I also got a chance to solidify some really great friendships and explore part of the city I’d never spent much time in.

^ It just be like that sometimes.

I can’t exactly share my friends with you, but I can tell you about all the new experiences I had, the great food I ate, and everything else I did. Click through to see my recommendations!

Designer Inspiration: Defining Your Style

Warning! Picture-heavy post!

I’ve struggled for years to define my style, because I like nearly everything. When I was reading through The Tiny Closet, I came across a post where the author described her favorites using runway pictures. For some reason, I never thought about doing this – I guess because I thought of the runway as strictly inspiration and not necessarily aspirational…?

Far East Movement – Dirty Bass

I’m in the process of reorganizing my iTunes library and as a result, I’m giving a lot of albums a second chance. That’s how I came across Dirty Bass, which was released in 2012 to mixed reviews.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Far East Movement, but I’ll be the first to say that this album really didn’t match my usual listening tastes. The second time around, however, I realized something: though they’re best known for their dance tracks like “Like a G6“, Far East Movement really shines on their slower-tempo tunes.

Read on to see my picks for the best slow jams on Dirty Bass.

[Review] What’s that Smell?: Finding the Right Deodorant

I have a problem.

Stinky pits? Not quite. My problem is that I’m kind of allergic and/or sensitive to normal (that is, not “all natural”) deodorants and antiperspirants. As a result, I’m always buying a new brand and looking for a different deodorant/antiperspirant to use. When Influenster offered an opportunity to try Dove® Advanced Care Deodorant with NutriumMoisture™, I jumped at the chance.

(And yes, I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.)

New Year’s Resolutions

I rarely make New Year’s resolutions unless I’m serious about committing to them. This year, there are actually a few things I’d like to accomplish.

1. Posting with more regularity.

I did a lot with my blog this past year, from incorporating way more music posts to moving to WordPress. I’m proud of all that, but I would like to be more consistent and more prolific this coming year.

2. Be brave and post outfit pics

I’ve done a little of this on Instagram (sort of), but it is kind of silly for me to have a fashion blog, take outfit photos and never have them on my actual blog, no?
